MTS provides control of objects of power industry of the Kaliningrad region

JSC Mobile TeleSystems, the telecommunication operator in Russia and the CIS countries, and JSC Yantarenergo announced in February, 2012 project implementation of the automated electricity metering in the Kaliningrad region. At the first stage of project 1500 of SIM cards of MTS it is installed in different devices and sensors for remote data acquisition from power objects.

The program will provide automation of electricity metering on objects of JSC Yantarenergo — the enterprises for production, transportation, distribution and implementation of electrical energy in the territory of the Kaliningrad region. The special equipment allows to obtain reliable technical data about a status of remote objects of power from any geographical point at any time. Within the project the possibility of remote control of objects, monitoring of a voltage level and also control of supply of electricity is provided. Online also all cases of shutdown of power supply are fixed that allows to react quickly to emergency situations and in the shortest possible time to recover power supply.

As the communication service provider is selected by MTS thanks to 100% to a qualitative covering of network of the operator from the Kaliningrad region. Use of mobile data transmission allows to control effectively onto electricity consumption on remote objects. We expect that project implementation will allow to provide economy of energy resources, to reduce accident rate and also to reduce operating costs of objects", - the CEO of JSC Yantarenergo Mikhail Tsikel noted.

In particular, using communication channels of MTS remote control of street lighting in Petrozavodsk is exercised. In St. Petersburg using services of data transmission of MTS automatic distribution of orders and monitoring of taxi service is conducted. In several regions on communication channels of MTS doctors transfer cardiograms to the medical centers directly from ambulance cars. We observe rapid growth of interest in M2M-services in the most different spheres, and for us it is extremely important that projects with use of telematic services of MTS allow not only to optimize business processes of the enterprises, but also to do more comfortable everyday life", - the director of the branch of JSC MTS "Northwest" Kirill Dmitriyev noted.
