The integration solution developed by specialists of Parma Telecom LLC allows to automate process of data exchange between the accounting system based on SAP and the project management information system (PMIS) based on Oracle Primavera.
The solution automates process of information exchange between the systems of SAP and Oracle Primavera regarding creation of structure of a SPP elements on the basis of the created structure of WBS Oracle Primavera and also allows to organize data exchange about the planned and actual costs between systems.
Thus, the solution will allow the companies using both systems in planning process and cost control connected with project implementation of capital construction to perform plan-fact cost analysis both financial and economic services of the company, and a project team.
For data exchange between two platforms by specialists Parma Telecom used the solutions recommended by vendors – an integration bus of SAP XI and Orcale Primavera Integration API that gives to the company client the chance to support this solution and to upgrade without serious consequences to newer versions of each of platforms.
This integration solution provides the maximum automation of data exchange, data transmission between the geographically distributed systems and also complete confidentiality at data transmission. The solution considers all standard tasks which are set for integration of SAP and Oracle Primavera, namely:
- Formation of the structural project plan of SAP PS on the basis of structure of work breakdown of Oracle Primavera;
- Formation of versions of planning on the basis of the plan of capital costs in Oracle Primavera;
- Data storage about actually incured confirmed costs in Oracle Primavera on the basis of data of SAP PS.
The developed solution is designed by specialists Parma Telecom taking into account work in geographically distributed infrastructure, with use as the basic data exchange protocol of SOAP (Simple Object Access Protocol) that allows to implement exchange of structured data in the distributed information environment.
Within the solution specialists Parma Telecom developed a user-friendly interface for integration process control. Advantage of this integration solution is that data are routed between systems live, without participation of users.
Thus, the solution allows to reduce risk of potential errors regarding planning and cost control when implementing the projects performed using the information systems SAP ERP and Oracle Primavera.
The solution is found in in commercial operation at one of clients of the Company.
The integration solution for data transmission between systems Oracle Primavera P6 and SAP ERP (module PS) developed by Parma Telecom company was registered in the summer 2013 by Federal Service for Intellectual Property (Rospatent). The company is going to propose this solution as standard for the clients implementing projects of capital construction in the activity.
