A half of projects on implementation of ERP does not give also a half of the planned benefits

Results of the research conducted by Panorama Consulting Group company say that in half of cases ERP projects do not allow to receive even half of the assumed benefit. Panorama polled representatives of 246 corporations from 64 countries of the world and came to a conclusion that in the companies seldom find time for value assessment of projects on implementation and potential economic effect owing to what cannot estimate also the end result.
27% of respondents consider what it in their company managed to be implemented from 31% to 50% of the assumed advantages of implementation of ERP systems, 17% are estimated by result less than at 30% from being expected, 4% do not see any results which are giving in to measurement, and 2% announced that they had no economic case of the project absolutely.
Most often among results call increase in availability of information (75%), interaction improvement (60%) and reduction of terms of task performance (38%). Only 23% of respondents among advantages call improvement of vendor interaction.
Projects on implementation of ERP systems need an accurate economic case with return assessment from investments, emphasize in Panorama.
