Andrey Mayorov: We know, KAK should be arranged the system of analytics

The RDTECH company began to be engaged in implementations of the analytical systems still when at the market there was only OLAP, and the concept business intelligence did not become current integrators and customers.Andrey Mayorov, the director of the department of information solutions told RDTECH about features of development of the Russian market of BI systems and specifics of automation of the different industries of TAdviser.

: How it is possible to characterize current demands of customers in the field of analytics? How did this market and what projects in this area develop now are relevant?

Andrey Mayorov: The RDTECH company is engaged in creation of the analytical systems practically from the very beginning of the basis. The first large project in this direction it is possible to call cooperation with the Federal Customs Service. In the late nineties the word "BI" was not yet, there was OLAP, but the majority of 12 principles formulated by Edgar Kodd in 1993 still define development of this direction.

Since then the company actively develops the direction of a business intelligence: we automate banking activity, retail retail chain stores, a public sector and the organizations from the most different branches of the economy. Long time during creation of such systems we were guided only by the software of Oracle, but in recent years began to work also with products of other vendors, such as SAP, Qlik (QlikTech).

TAdviser: Whether you are going to expand further a pool of BI platforms with which you work? What usually causes the choice of this or that analytical solution?

Andrey Mayorov: The list of vendors will and extend further – we look for the most optimal solutions for our customers. For each of them this optimum: certain requirements to scalability, functionality, usability and even, oddly enough sounds, just to a brand. Quite often the choice towards specific vendor is defined by already developed software infrastructure, it does not make sense to break which.

The choice of vendor often is defined also by the scale of business of the customer. Products of the largest software makers are heavy and expensive to medium business. The scale of tasks allows to use easier and inexpensive solutions which are working directly at operational bases, not requiring creation of separate show-windows and the more so storages.

Our company, having devoted to development of the analytical systems nearly two decades, accumulated considerable experience and knowledge in the field. We aim to understand needs of the customer, and depending on it to offer that tool (a technique, a software platform) which is necessary for the solution of its tasks. The most important part of our examination consists in understanding, KAK should be arranged an analytical system. Tools change regularly, the principles of the analysis are almost invariable.

TAdviser: How industry specifics are important for Business Intelligence? How does RDTECH work with representatives of the different industries of business?

Andrey Mayorov: Development of a range of IT services and saturation of the market by the IT companies competing among themselves for projects led to the fact that the customer wants to see before himself not just the IT developer who are well understanding technologies, but the consultants who are perfectly knowing specifics of business. RDTECH moves in this direction long ago and purposefully: on the one hand, actively employing in staff with work experience in key industries, with another, advancing specialized solutions for banks, public sectors, retail.

Recently RDTECH strengthened the purely consulting practice, having selected the direction of management consulting in separate division. Now we offer our customers not only IT services, but also business performance analysis techniques.

TAdviser: In public authorities analytical solutions are also used. What their specifics?

Andrey Mayorov: Being guided by customers needs from a public sector, RDTECH a few years ago began to create own developments on technologies with the open code. An example of it is the analytical solution "Head's Monitor" implemented RDTECH in the Russian Government Analytical Centre.

The product is designed under needs of heads of very high level. Key factors are purity and the highest adjustedness of data, mobility of the solution, ease of its deployment, the requirement to information security. Technologies based on software products allowed us to solve a problem with the open code successfully.

In a Business Intelligence segment the company, having a broad spectrum of BI tools in the arsenal and using them depending on requirements and opportunities of the clients, aims at the extreme customer focus based on knowledge and competences acquired by our employees both in purely technical area and of business of our clients.
