The last win the increasing popularity in cloud DPCs where cost efficiency is regarded as of paramount importance. Benefits from replacement of hardware solutions with program are obvious – first of all, need of acquisition of expensive components based on proprietary architecture disappears, besides, the customer receives the flexible easily controlled and reconfigured solution.

Along with heavyweights on behalf of Cisco and Hewlett-Packard to the arising market show interest a set of the small companies which had a unique opportunity nearly on equal terms to compete to large corporations. Especially the author of a post notes Nicira and Arista Networks which is once founded by former employees of Cisco including its current president and the chief executive Jayshree Ullal.

On December 10, 2013 announced that it completed process of acquisition of the Insieme Networks private company specializing in development of the infrastructure focused on applications (Application Centric Infrastructure, ACI) data processing centers.
