Citrix Cloud Provider Pack

The Citrix company provided in the spring of 2012 of Citrix Cloud Provider Pack — a new solution package for service providers who offer the clients applications and desktops of Windows as a cloud service. A new set of technologies is designed to simplify creation and business management on providing "Windows-as-service", to reduce costs and to increase efficiency on mobile devices.

According to developers, the packet of Citrix Cloud Provider Pack includes the latest technologies which allow to carry out work with any applications within one workplace provided from "cloud". In particular, within Cloud Provider Pack the technology of management of applications (app orchestration technology) which allows to automate development, a configuration, deployment and management of lifecycle of the Windows applications provided by partners of CSP to a great number of users is provided. Now administrators of suppliers of cloud services can configure a working environment, necessary performance, a configuration of network and the requirement to isolation within the single interface and to start no-touch deployment of a system.

Moreover, the updated Citrix CloudPortal Services Manager provides automatic support of management of applications, thus providing dynamic reaction of the infrastructure of jobs provided from "cloud" to the requests for providing reports coming via the portal, says Citrix.

The packet of Cloud Provider Pack also offers the new opportunities developed especially for work in "cloud". End users can receive the personal local applications along with the business applications of the employer started from "cloud" now — these applications will function within the desktop started in "cloud" with the configured performance. According to Citrix, an opportunity to combine components of private, personal and public "cloud" not only transfers convenience of work of end users to new level, but also simplifies to cloud providers attraction and adaptation of clients. Thus, there is no more need to transfer all applications from the environment of personal PCs of the customer to "cloud" before to develop the environment of virtual desktops — service providers can migrate simpler programs in the beginning, and more difficult to transfer later or even if necessary to leave a part of applications in local infrastructure.

Besides, Mobility Pack packet for the first time provided by the company in December, 2011 will transform the standard Windows interface for desktop computers on Wednesday, more comfortable during the work with the devices managed by contact — with larger icons, versions of the menu usual for the user of IOS and Android, and automatically pop-up keyboard for text entering. The last improvements in Mobility Pack include also a set of work benches of development of programs (SDK) which provides a possibility of customization of specific applications for work with mobile devices. According to Citrix, it allows to achieve seamless interaction of the applications started from "cloud" with GPS, the camera and SMS service. Thanks to a combination of performance of Citrix HDX technology and millions of mobile devices supporting Citrix Receiver, suppliers of cloud services can offer end users absolutely new level of convenience of mobile work, claim in the company.

The packet of Citrix Cloud Provider Pack will be available to acquisition since the beginning of April and will provide support of the applications and desktops started on the basis of Citrix XenApp 6.5. It will be free for all partners with the status CSP using the Premium-version of Citrix XenApp 6.5. Mobility Pack packet is available when using all versions of XenApp 6.5 now.

2013: Cloud Provider Pack 2

Throughout development of the solution, the company Citrix brought to the Cloud Provider Pack 2 market - technology which provides a naive approach for implementation of the differentiated vertical services Desktop-as-a-Service (DaaS) using solutions Citrix XenApp and Citrix XenDesktop. Citrix Cloud Provider Pack 2 supports new Application Orchestration technology - it automates processing of the difficult tasks connected with a hosting, including infrastructure management processes, placements of applications and connection in multi-user a hosting Wednesdays Citrix.

On December 26, 2013 the Citrix company announced a release of new technological solutions for participants of the Citrix Service Provider (CSP) program.

Description

With this solution Citrix offers new services for receiving additional opportunities of increase in income to participants of the Citrix Service Provider (CSP) program. The solution Cloud Provider Pack 2, available since December 26, 2013, provides selection of resources on the basis of portals for simplification of processing of the procedures connected with Windows for service providers of a hosting using the CloudPortal Services Manager portal. Service providers will be able to take advantage of collective use of cloud resources to different cloud computing architectures, including Citrix CloudPlatform on the basis of Apache CloudStack.
