2025: $24.3 billion purchase of Worldpay from FIS and GTCR LLC

The American fintech company Global Payments entered into several transactions in April 2025, gaining full control over the payment service Worldpay Inc. and getting rid of the business of developing various solutions for issuers. 2015: 12.5% revenue growth in the first quarter to $704.9 million

2012: Visa deletes Global Payments from service provider register

Earlier last week, Visa and MasterCard announced leaks of credit card information, without naming the culprits. Company officials only emphasized that this was due to the fault of a third party, and their own servers were not attacked. According to the version of payment systems, leaks occurred from January 21 to February 25, Global Payments insists that the attackers gained access to information no earlier than early March.

In response to Visa's actions on the same day, Global Payments released a statement, it followed that 1.5 million was an inflated figure, and the leaks occurred exclusively in North America. Indeed, according to the Visa press service, the sanctions did not affect the Russian subsidiary of Global Payments - the Company of United Credit Cards UCS (United Card Service). However, it is not completely clear which data fell into the hands of the attackers - Visa, MasterCard and Global Payments disagree. At best, it's only about partial credit card information, at worst, full dialing, including the names, addresses of residence and Social Security (SSN) numbers of owners.

At a press conference convened on April 2, Paul Garcia, executive director of Global Payments, expressed the hope that Visa would subsequently return his company back to the register of certified service providers. However, he could not name the exact date. Headquartered in Atlanta, United States, Global Payments is one of the largest Fortune 1000 companies. In the last quarter of the financial year, its profit increased by 18% to over $92 million with a turnover of over $533 million.
