Upgrade of a LAN and telephony at the central office of retail company "Lenta"

The BELTEL system integrator performed upgrade of a LAN and telephony at the central office of retail company "Lenta", built Wi-fi network in new hypermarkets and warehouse distribution centers of the retailer.

"Tape" - one of the leading retail companies in Russia. In different regions of the country new hypermarkets of network which successful performance is impossible including without modern telecommunication services annually open.

Local Computer Network (LCN)

Specialists of BELTEL booked audit of network infrastructure of the central office of Lenta company based on which the decision on change of design and increase in network transmission capacity was made.

In the course of upgrade the core of network based on the high-performance modular Cisco switches Catalyst 6500 is constructed, and switches of the existing core of network based on stacks of the Cisco switches Catalyst of series 3750 were transferred to the access level. For simplification of structure of network two Cisco switches Catalyst 6500 are united in Virtual Switching System. In a core channels by capacity of 10 Gbit / c instead of earlier used 1 Gbps are used. For ensuring smooth operation of services hardware balancing of loading based on Cisco Application Control Engine is implemented.

Wi-fi networks

Construction in hypermarkets of the Wi-fi networks used for work with goods in a trading floor became one of areas of cooperation of companies BELTEL and "Film". Specialists of BELTEL carried out radio inspection for the choice of optimal arrangement of Wi-Fi-points and determination of their exact quantity. Results of inspection formed the basis of the standard project applied at construction of Wi-fi in new hypermarkets.

In each hypermarket the Wi-fi controller of the Cisco Wireless Controller 5508 series is installed, modern access points of the Cisco Aironet 3500 series with support of CleanAir technology are used.

Telephone network

The telephone network of the central office and Lenta hypermarkets is constructed based on the solutions IP telephony of Cisco company. As a core of a telephone network at office the Cisco Unified Communication Manager IP PBX is used. For ensuring reservation the cluster from two nodes is set. In new hypermarkets Cisco ISR 2951 routers which allow to save smooth operation of a telephone network in shop at possible loss of communication with the central office are installed. For connection of analog subscribers the analog gateways Cisco VG224 are used, for the DECT subscribers IP-DECT KIRK is used, a part of subscribers has IP phones.
