2016: Tele2 and Technoserv started DPC of the operator in Rostov-on-Don

In April, 2016 Tele2, alternative mobile operator, in cooperation with Russian system announced Technoserv integrator start of the Data Processing Center (DPC) of the operator in Rostov-on-Don. The additional data-center will allow Tele2 to increase fault tolerance of IT infrastructure and to guarantee to subscribers high quality of services.

On the characteristics the new DPC corresponds to the Tier II level. An object is expected placement of 100 racks. Power supply of DPC is provided from 2 independent transformer substations on the independent and mutually reserved cable lines, each of which is expected overall electric load of an object, a component of 590 kW. As the third independent power source the diesel generator sets in container execution placed in the territory, adjacent to an object, are used. Time of their independent operation not less than 8 hours at an overall load. Level of reservation N+1.

The DPC of Tele2 has modern equipment, including automatic control of computer systems, the systems of maintenance of necessary level of temperature and humidity, remote control, fire protection, monitoring and video surveillance.

The anti-vandal design construction of DPC which is specially developed for Tele2 became feature of the project. The Data-center is executed in the form of the capsule in fire-resistant execution in the existing building. Enclosing structures from fire-resistant sandwich panels are not only the energy efficient solution improving climatic characteristics but also the additional system of physical security.

Increase in power and increase in fault tolerance of computing resources of Tele2 will allow to build correctly work of DPC during the periods of the raised load of billing and a network management system".

2012: Tele2 operator in Russia upgrades the operating DPC and creates reserve

Tele2 Russia and Technoserv company started upgrade of the main data processing center of the operator and construction of reserve data center.

Solution

The complex project provides upgrade and expansion of computing and engineering infrastructure of the main DPC of the operator in the Southern Federal District designed and constructed by Technoserv in 2005 and also opening of reserve data center in the Northwestern Federal District.

For reserve DPC in the Northwestern Federal District Technoserv creates "turnkey" all computing and network infrastructure, including delivery, installation and commissioning. The storage system of Hitachi Virtual Storage Platform is created.

Upgrade of computing infrastructure in the main DPC of Tele2 is carried out to the Southern Federal District based on the similar equipment that provided performance improvement of a system and effective density of data storage by 2.5 times. At the same time the physical area under the equipment of DWH was twice reduced.

Upgrade and amplification of the systems of engineering support of the main DPC is carried out.
