Until the end of 2009 the Seventh Continent company used bioptichesky scanners of the second generation of Datalogic Magellan 8100 in a cash line. This series of scanners in comparison with previous had higher scanning speed, at the same time remained rather ergonomic solution, successfully fitting into a working surface of point of sale. The Magellan 8100 scanners allowed to read out the barcode from the different angles of packaging that significantly simplified work of the cashier, without requiring to position precisely goods concerning the scanner – it is rather simple to carry by goods before a scanning window. Thanks to it at the checkout service rate of buyers increases. Process of programming of the scanner under settings of the POS terminals used in the company is rather simple that it allows to reprogram it within one-two minutes.
Today the Datalogic Magellan 8100 model is replaced with the modern Datalogic Magellan 8301 model relating to third generation of the high-performance Datalogic scanners in this connection the Seventh Continent company decided to use the new scanner in shops of network.
The modern Datalogic Magellan 8301 model is set in all branches of network opened in 2010. Installation process was left without changes as the scanner has the same overall dimensions, as the previous Datalogic Magellan 8100 model. As an important circumstance at installation one more nuance served: the scanner does not require additional programming for work with the POS terminals installed in retail chain stores any more.
