Exiland Backup

Exiland Backup is a utility for backup and file synchronization which allows to create automatically archives of the most important files and to execute synchronization of folders between different carriers: local/network drive, PC, notebook, USB stick or FTP server.

2016: Exiland Backup 4.2

The Exiland Software company, the developer of the program of file backup Exiland Backup, announced in July, 2016 release of new version 4.2 in which support of Unicode was added and also some new opportunities appeared.

The program has a full support of Unicode, i.e. allows to copy the files containing characters of any alphabets in a name including the Chinese, Japanese hieroglyphs, Hebrew or the Arab letters.

Besides, in this version the speed of copying of files on a local network was increased, the feature for decrease in load of the processor, a disk and network by change of a priority of the program is added. Stability of a program runtime is increased and also some errors and defects are corrected.

2014: Exiland Backup 3.8

On June 17, 2014 the Exiland Software company announced release of the version of the program of file backup of Exiland Backup 3.8.

In this version work speed increased. In a system algorithms of creation of backup copies, an algorithm of synchronization of folders are significantly optimized. Speed of file backup on a local network is increased more than twice.

In all editions of the Exiland Backup program - Free, Standard and Professional are added:

• file synchronization with FTP on a local/network drive
• the fault tolerance at a rupture of contact with the FTP server is significantly increased, losses of a disk source or a disk for preserving of backup copies during copying.
• some errors and defects are corrected,
• the graphical interface is finished.

2013: Exiland Backup 3.7

Versions of Exiland Backup 3.7 included a number of innovations, reliability when copying files on FTP is increased, the installer is finished, the interface is improved, small errors and defects are eliminated.

Also, starting with version 3.7, there was a portable (Portable) version of the program which does not require installation on the computer and can be started even from the USB stick.

The main opportunities of Exiland Backup are creations of backup copies of files and preserving them on a local disk, on networks, external HDD, the USB stick or on the remote FTP server. Archiving of files in ZIP will allow to save a disk space significantly. For reliability augmentation enciphering and duplication of backup copies is provided in an unlimited number of places. The program supports several types of backup: Full Backup, Incremental, Differential and also synchronization of folders.

Exiland Backup is divided into three versions: Free, Standard and Professional, each of which has the features.

Exiland Backup (Free and Standard) is backup for the house and office

The simple and convenient program allowing to create several types of backup copies and to execute synchronization of folders. Is ideal both for home use, and in small firms. Exiland Backup provides copying of important documents, work files, accounting bases, letters, images and any other files which you often use. Backup copies can be saved as on other machine in the local area network, the FTP server, replaceable or a local hard drive. You can download free of charge the program of backup and try it in work during unlimited time.

The version of Free is distributed for free and can be used as the demoversion for Standard. The only restriction of the free version - start of tasks only by the button in the program. For automatic start of tasks it is necessary to purchase the license to use of the version of Standard.

Exiland Backup Professional is backup for the organizations

The most complete version which consists of two a component: programs of setup of tasks and services (Windows service). The program is installed by one machine (usually on the server). Has all potential of the version of Standard and also allows to copy files from different PCs in the local area network, creating backup copies and saving them on a local disk on the server, or on any PC in network including on the FTP server. For file backup from other PC the version of Professional allows to specify an account (the login, the password) in a local area network if access to the folder is limited.

The program has Russian, the intuitive interface that undoubtedly is plus.

2012: Exiland Backup Standard 3.5

The Russian company Exiland Software announced in April, 2012 release of the new version of the program of automatic backup and synchronization of the Exiland Backup Standard 3.5 folders and also the free version of backup of the Exiland Backup Free 3.5 program which sits in notification area and executes a backup of work files in the background, without preventing work of other programs and without blocking files.

Important feature of Exiland Backup is existence of four types of backup: the complete copy (Full backup), the differentiated backup (Differential backup), an additional backup (Incremental backup) and synchronization of folders.

Complete file backup (or in English Full Backup) allows to place everything source files and folders in the backup copy (backup). Exiland Backup traces whether there were changes in files and folders of the copy. If any file or the folder from the copy did not change, then in the magazine the corresponding message registers and the new backup copy is not created as in it there is no need. Such type of copying will be suitable for the small information volume as at complete copying a large number of time and a disk space for storage of copies is spent.

The second type of backup in the Exiland Backup program is the copy of the new and changed files (the differentiated copy). The essence of such copying is that when copying the new and changed files, in comparison with the last created complete copy are only added to a backup.

The third type of copying – an incremental (additional) backup. The new and changed files are copied only from the moment of creation of the last additional copy. Such method of backup, as well as previous, will allow to preserve both time, and a disk space. And additional backup saves time and disk space stronger.

Well and the last type synchronization of folders is, i.e. the mirror copy of data is created. At emergence of new data or changed, they are finished in the mirror backup copy. For synchronization of folders it is possible to set the minimum frequency (1 time a minute), then the folder receiver will contain files and subfolders of the folder receiver to within one minute (almost in real time).

The program is intended both for home PCs, and for a backup at offices.
