Severstal-Invest implemented OEBS

In Severstal-Invest Trading house implementation of the ERP system  on  the Oracle E-Business Suite platform is complete. Specialists of IBS Borlas company [1] (file) were engaged in project implementation. Severstal-Invest – one of the largest metaltrade companies of Russia.  The company is included into Severstal holding. The trading house is engaged in sale of metal rolling, a hardware and pipes, and  has network of service warehouses through the whole country.

The project started in October, 2007. As it was reported earlier, specialists  of the company conducted about two years researches and studied options of use of different management systems, considering features of business of the company. As a result for trading house the ERP system of OEBS was selected. It is interesting that the Severstal Resource company which is also a part  of Severstal holding and the managing director of all its mining assets  approximately in the same time started SAP ERP system implementation, and now  performs her replication.

Within the project in Severstal-Invest   tasks of management of finance (including accounting according to IFRS and accounting under RAS), managements of material flows, production managements, personnel managements, managements of budgets and  reportings were automated.

In total in  a system 240 people work, and it is supposed that  the number of users will increase.  Currently in  the ERP system the central office, the service metalcenter and warehouses on storage of metal rolling and a hardware work. In regional branches  the old  information system integrated with OEBS at the moment functions.

In plans of the company – connection to the system of a branch network with the corresponding upgrade of communications, implementation of radio terminal equipment and technology of barcoding in warehouses and production, automation of control functions by pricing, project implementation on increase in customer satisfaction.
