The Siberian Business Union Holding Company CJSC includes coal mining, engineering, transport, utilities, construction, agricultural and processing enterprises, an insurance company, print media and radio stations, sports, recreation and entertainment institutions. About the Company

CJSC Holding Company Siberian Business Union was established on August 12, 2004. By March 2012, the company united 50,000 employees of enterprises in the Kemerovo Region, Altai Territory, and other regions of Russia. The investment of HC SDS in modernization, technical re-equipment, introduction of new technologies and in the construction of new enterprises in 2004-2010. amounted to 30 billion rubles.

2023: Ivan Tavrin Holding Buys SDS Media Group Radio Stations

On May 30, 2023, the Choose Radio group of companies, which is part of Ivan Tavrin's Media-1 holding, announced the acquisition of a number of assets of the Kuzbass Media Group as part of the Siberian Business Union (SDS).

The subject of the transaction was 12 radio frequencies in Kemerovo, Novokuznetsk, Yurga and Mariinsk. They broadcast such stations as Europe Plus, Retro FM, Road Radio, Russian Radio, DFM, Radio Chanson and Hit FM. According to Interfax, the decision to sell frequency resources is explained by a change in the business strategy of Kuzbass Media Group: the company intends to focus on organizing and conducting major events and developing the direction for the production of video materials.

Kuzbass is an important industrial region of Russia, with high development potential. The process of consolidating the Kuzbass radio market will have a positive effect both in terms of the volume of the advertising market and the degree of quality of local content in federal formats, "said Mikhail Poponov, General Director of Choose Radio.

After the completion of the transaction, the Choose Radio group of companies will operate 25 radio stations in Kemerovo, Novokuznetsk and other cities of Kuzbass. In addition, there are large branches in Novosibirsk and Krasnoyarsk. The total number of radio stations of the Media-1 holding increased to 136.

The purchase of assets of Kuzbass Media Group has become the largest transaction for Choose Radio since 2019. According to Poponov, thanks to the acquisition of additional frequencies, the share of Choose Radio in the radio advertising market in the Kemerovo region will grow from 60% to about 75%.
