Equicom PING2-knock

The PING2-knock Equicom device is intended for serviceability check of Ethernet segments of networks  (SNMP and SNMP Trap). The inexpensive solution for the small premises which are not requiring excessive functions. The device with the built-in shock sensor, and a connectivity of several external sensors for control: temperatures, humidity, access to the server, presence of tension, smoke and leak of water. These devices are shapers of test UDP packets with support of the IEEE 802.1Q VLAN tags, the possibility of acceptance of packets is absent.  For acceptance and the analysis of UDP of packets  the free PINGSTAT program (Linux 32/64, FreeBSD 32/64) is offered which acts as SNMP the agent also creates the web page (see a sample) . Through SNMP it is possible to integrate with the managing systems, such as Zabbix , Nagios, MRTG, Cacti , PRTG Network Monitor, Tivoli, HP OpenView, Wratsup, Big Brother, Castle Rock, OpenNMS, etc. 

For setup of parameters the device is connected to COM port of the computer by means of special PING2-RS232 cable, for configuring any terminal program  can be used. gabaritny sizes  devices only 89 x 62 x 31 mm and weight 100 gr. The network adapter is not included in the delivery. 

Possibilities of some Equicom sensors:

Temperature sensor

This cheap temperature sensor can control temperature from -40 °C to +125 °C about the accuracy of 2 °C. Ideally to detect problems the connected with temperature in premises with computers, such as air conditioning, sudden temperature jumps, overheating in server racks. The temperature sensor continuously reads out values, compares them to the set indicators of temperature and if necessary generates notifications by e-mail (or SNMP a ladder).

To the Equicom PING2 device it is possible to connect one temperature sensor, and to devices from PING3 Equicom series  two temperature sensors;

Sensor of existence 220B

The sensor of existence of network turns on before the uninterruptible power supply unit (UPSU). He can detect and announce (SNMP a ladder )  availability and power losses of the main accumulators. If you usually face voltage drops and if you want to be warned before your UPS is switched-off, then this sensor will help you.

Sensor of opening / closing

The wire sensor of opening of a door (sealed-contact) is the magnetocontact annunciator intended for blocking of door and window openings and also other structural elements of buildings and constructions.  It is connected to any idle line of the Equicom device and does not require in addition a power supply.
