The PingSTAT program (SNMP the agent for PING2 series EQUICOM devices)

For acceptance and the analysis of UDP of the packets generated by PING2 series devices (pinger) the free PingSTAT program is offered.

Its main opportunities:

The program acts as SNMP of the agent and allows to obtain the complete information about all controlled pinger at the address to her under protocol SNMP v1, v2. Thanks to it there is an opportunity to use PING2 devices practically with any standard monitoring system collecting data on controlled objects on the SNMP protocol.

The program creates the web page (see a sample) in which in the form of the table information on all controlled pinger is displayed: receptive period of the last packet, an average interval between packets, a status of external digital inputs, value of temperature (if the thermal sensor is connected to an input of ATsP). There is a possibility of setup of style of the table and coloring of its elements depending on the nature of the events happening to each pinger.

At approach of any event with a pinger (for example: the status of the external digital sensor changed, the flow of packets stopped or renewed, temperature went beyond allowable limits) the script to which as input parameters the complete information about a status of this pinger is transferred is started. By means of this script it is possible to react to an event as appropriate: add a line to the log-file, send the message on e-mail or the SMS on the mobile phone, to display the message of the computer, to send SNMP Trap the message, etc.

The program can control any quantity of pinger.

Structure of a distribution kit

In pingstat2.02.tar.gz archive there are following files:

• run_pingstat.sh is a script for start of the program
• pingstat is an executable file for start in the normal mode
