The DPC of FTS recognizes Cisco by one of world-best

On May 30, 2012 the IBS Group, the leading software provider and IT services in Eastern Europe, received from Cisco company an award of Architectural Excellence Data Center Partner of the Year for the best solution of 2011 in the field of creation of the data processing centers (DPC) in dynamic emerging markets of the region of EMEAR. Rewarding took place within the annual partner summit Cisco (Cisco Partner Summit 2012) which took place in San Diego (USA).

The data processing center mentioned by the international award is created by IBS for needs of Federal Tax Service of the Russian Federation. It is one of the first domestic DPC which was implemented by specialists of the IBS Group based on FlexPod, – the newest joint solution of the companies Cisco, NetApp and VMware. The unique architecture allowed to reduce cost of both the hardware and software system, and its subsequent service, to lower energy costs, to reduce the occupied space and also to increase efficiency of service of processes of the client.

Dmitry Butmalay, the head of department of the network solutions IBS comments: "Perhaps, it is the first large DPC in Russia with this type of architecture implemented that is important, on the basis of standard blocks. So serious performance measures, profitability and efficiency are also explained by it".

The architecture of FlexPod integrates the unified environment of calculations on the Cisco Unified Computing System server platform, the unified Cisco switches Nexus and the unified storage systems of Netapp with Data ONTAP technology and also the VMware vSphere platform in the latest version of Enterprise Plus with the server of management vCenter. All components of DPC are connected to the unified network 10 GB Ethernet/8 GB FiberChannel. Single solution is used both for ensuring virtualization of servers, and for support of VDI (Virtual Desktop Infrastructure) based on VMware View.

The new DPC also allows the client to maintain complete functionality of a virtual working space. All components, including VDI, are optimized for virtual environment. Thus, as a full-fledged workplace any can be used, including, mobile, the device. Along with it, requirements to communication channels as direct communication of jobs with servers passes in DPC across the LAN canal, but not through a global network significantly decrease.

The data processing center for the Federal Tax Service is among the largest, constructed IBS for more than 15-year history of partnership Cisco. Earlier infrastructure and solutions of this producer were already applied by specialists of Group when implementing a number of sign projects, including to such clients as the Pension Fund of the Russian Federation, Rosnedvizhimost, Mezhregiongaz, RAO UES, Russian Standard bank, Rosstat, MEPhI, Higher School of Economics, the Central Bank of Russia and others.
