Web archive in Roskosmos

Digital Design announced in May, 2012 end of the first stage of the project on creation of electronic web archive on the DocsVision and Microsoft Office SharePoint Server platforms in Federal Space Agency (Roskosmos) on the platform of one of the leading subordinated research institutes. A new system represents the centralized information resource providing specialists with necessary data for implementation of productive activity. Besides, the web archive allows to reduce labor input of technology processes of collecting, preparation and publication of information.

For years of existence of the space industry in funds of the enterprises of Roskosmos considerable volumes of the scientific and technical information which is stored in documents (paper and electronic) and databases of different formats are saved up. Respectively, the Federal Space Agency needed to integrate them in uniform electronic archive with the accessibility to it all employees of the industry. Specialists of Digital Design constructed new integrated solution: based on DocsVision 4.5 the level of management is implemented, and the intranet portal of Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010 provides the user interface. As a result of project implementation within testing ground of electronic web archive are consolidated and published on the portal of data from 10 systems. The staff of Roskosmos will have essentially new search capabilities on all information resources and navigation between objects. Due to automatic update of data on the schedule the need for administration of processes of collecting and the publication of materials was reduced to a minimum.

One of the directions of this work is creation of industry electronic archive within which we are going to consolidate a significant amount of the scientific and technical and other information accumulated in the industry from the moment of its origin, - Ignatov Boris, the head of information technology of Roskosmos comments. - Not only consolidation of a number of resources, important for the industry, but also the fact that we received the hi-tech management tool electronic archive allowing to perform connection to it of new sources and to publish data on the intranet portal with the minimum costs was result of the executed project".

In 2012 step-by-step accession to electronic web archive of Roskosmos of funds of the different enterprises of the industry is planned that will be followed by large-scale organizational and technical actions. From the technology point of view during this process it is supposed to expand structure of adapters of access to diverse information resources. Besides, further development of a system regarding use of the instruments of semantic information processing intended for solving of tasks of an autorubrication, autoannotation and search of loans between documents is planned.
