According to the research Gartner, global market of software tools of operational management of IT (IT Operations Management, ITOM) in 2011 increased by 8.7% in comparison with 2010, having reached 18.3 billion dollars.
First place in rating is traditionally won by IBM corporation. The main part of the management tools of corporation providing end-to-end operational management of IT systems is focused on the companies of medium and large business; 28% bring software corporations of control of mainframes. The second position belongs to CA Technologies company (analysts note growth of business of this company in such segments as monitoring of operation of applications, monitoring of resources and network management), and the third — BMC Software companies.
Quicker than the market the corporation Microsoft — even grew in spite of the fact that unlike representatives of "Big Four" of the market of management of IT — BMC CA HP and IBM — its solutions are intended first of all for work with operating environments Windows and proprietary applications of corporation. The sales of HP which decreased at the end of 2010 again, though slowly, but grew in the 2011th.
Analysts of Gartner select about one and a half tens different segments in the market of the software tools ITOM, turning on, monitoring of operation of applications, asset management, availability control and performance, configuration management, management of bases of data, systems and networks, management of service desk and help desk services, automation of balancing of workload, IT support process automation.
As analysts of IDC note, the volume of this market in 2011 grew more than by 25% and was 144.2 million US dollars in the prices of end users. The pacing factors stimulating market development of software of operational management of IT and network infrastructure became the explosive growth of volumes of the processed data and the necessity of broader application of convergent solutions and corresponding control software caused by it. The five of the leading suppliers included the foreign companies – IBM, HP, Microsoft, VMware, CA Technologies. Totally more than 75% of the market fell to their share. From the Russian companies in this market Naumen whose share made 2.8% made the most significant progress.
"Unlike more mature IT markets, in Russia software costs of systems management and networks still occupy an insignificant part in the general investments into creation of IT infrastructures, – the analyst of IDC Victor Tsygankov considers. – It allows to say about presence of considerable potential for development of this segment of the market of software".
According to forecasts of IDC, the volume of the Russian market of software of ITOM will increase in 2012 by 17% due to continuation of investments into creation and development of corporate and commercial centers of data processing and further penetration of cloud computing.
