Outpost24 Outscan

OUTSCAN is an inexpensive cloud service for scanning of vulnerabilities of perimeter of network. Offers powerful functionality, it is simple in use and provides complex scanning of vulnerabilities at the minimum level of false operations.

2013: Updating of the program

On October 7, 2013 Outpost24 company announced a number of changes in the solution Outpost24 OUTSCAN.

Main changes

• Solutions for scanning and management of vulnerabilities are improved, in particular:

• two-factor authentication,
• filtering and ranging on the basis of IP ranges

these innovations will allow to protect an information system of the company reliably.

• Reports are updated and optimized: now data on vulnerabilities are clear to managers who do not need the excess technical information.

All reports are issued in uniform style of three options: Management Summary, Summary and Detailed (Brief summary, Overview and "Detailed report").

Control over activity

The release allows users of the solutions HIAB and OUTSCAN to add and control systems which are not scanned actively. In addition to visualization of segments of networks which are actively scanned within the license agreement it will help clients to visualize also those areas which are not scanned.

Decrease in restrictions

The limited scanning volume for detection of information resources is increased 10-multiply by one license of the product OUTSCAN and not limited for HIAB. Increase in admissible volume of scanning will regularly allow to execute scanning for search of information resources of network and to gain complete idea of internal and external systems on which the current management programs for vulnerabilities do not act.

Two-factor authentication

Increasing levels of information security and aiming to conform to requirements of regulators, in the products OUTSCAN HIAB the technology of two-factor authentication on the basis of the SMS is also implemented.

Filtering of IP

For more flexible possibility of viewing information by users of Outpost24 added filtering of IP ranges to the user interface. It can be used for a quick selection of resources in network; it lays the foundation of effective dynamic groups of resources. Using preset tuning of filters the new hosts detected in the network range can be automatically sorted, according to structure of the organization of assets in a management system. It is possible to manage flexibly an IP address space, using CIDR addressing.

Reporting on vulnerabilities

Information on the known vulnerabilities is available in reports of both products now - OUTSCAN and HIAB. The set of sources for information extraction about the known vulnerabilities and available exploits is investigated, the found information joins in reports.
