2019: Backup Plus Ultra Touch, Backup Plus Slim, Backup Plus Portable

On January 7, 2019 the Seagate company offers Backup Plus — family of portable external hard drives for backup thanks to which consumers will not worry for safety of the data.

According to the company, with updated Backup Plus the parents imprinting each moment of life of children should not look for the place for digital photo albums any more. At Backup Plus Ultra Touch (it is available in options on 1 and 2 Tbyte) a user-friendly touch interface and the improved modern functions, including automatic backup with synchronization of folders on several devices and data protection by means of hardware encryption. The drives Backup Plus Slim (models with a capacity of 1 and 2 Tbyte are available) and Backup Plus Portable (4 and 5 Tbyte) are executed in the body with a glossy aluminum covering of black, blue and silvery color. These devices are equipped with function of automatic creation of backup copies. For January, 2019 devices of a line Backup Plus are followed by a free two-month subscription to Adobe Creative Cloud service.

Sales start in the spring of 2019.

Availability in Russia

Available in Russia to Seagate Backup Plus have the volume of 500 GB, 750 GB and 1 TB for portable models, since July, 2012 the drives Backup Plus Desk will be available to the desktop systems with a capacity of 1 TB, 2 TB and 3 TB.

2010: Universal storage devices

In 2010 the Seagate company adopted the Universal Storage Module (USM) standard which suggests users to use with ease storage devices of Seagate with the advanced interfaces of connection on the Mac and PC platforms. To make devices even more universal, Seagate added a feature for cross-platform work for Mac and Windows without the need for reformatting.
