Content

The RDTECH company jointly with specialists of Zapsibkombank completed migration of the Oracle database on version 11g.

Task

Continuing the active development, Zapsibkombank initiated migration of the database (D) supporting transactions with bank cards. For ensuring high availability and fault tolerance of a DB the Customer made the decision to unroll a system in cluster environment of Oracle Real Application Clusters. As the contractor of the Bank project selected RDTECH company.

Solution

Within the project option Oracle DBMS - Oracle Real Application Testing, allowed to predict results of migration on a test stage is used.

Before carrying out migration by joint project team RDTECH and Zapsibkombank is made the general audit of a configuration and performance of a hardware information system of Bank regarding readiness for implementation of the new version of DBMS. According to the results of these works recommendations about system operation improvement were made.

Carrying out test migration using the option Oracle Real Application Testing became the next stage of the project. Confirming the high technological effectiveness and innovation, Zapsibkombank made the decision to use this tool for providing the most effective project deliverables.

Result

The preparatory testing which is carried out based on Oracle Real Application Testing allowed to develop the most optimal technique of migration considering specifics of all works. Thanks to it migration was executed within only one working day.

As a result of the implemented project Zapsibkombank could provide high availability and fault tolerance of main systems, to increase performance of work of the database and own efficiency.
