IP Expert Logistic

The IT Scan company sums up the results of the project of automation of a wholesale and retail warehouse of the regional distributor of food of the company of IP Edamenko (Uralsk, Kazakhstan) based on the warehouse management system Expert Logistic.

System implementation was executed in a format of standard project approach: engineering of business processes, integration with a corporate system 1C: Accounting 8, setup of a system, preparation of a warehouse and personnel with departure on an object, start of a system in trial and commercial operation. Official project closure took place in October, 2011.

Short project description: In a warehouse of IP Edamenko company storage and processing of food is performed: the frozen and cooled products, dairy products, confectionery, etc. Total quantity of nomenclature positions about 2500 SKU. It should be noted separately that practically all products have requirements for accounting of an expiration date that means the increased control at a prikhodovaniye of Inventories on a warehouse and selection of orders and also additional operations on marking of the Inventories accepted on a warehouse. Additional feature of a warehouse is the high intensity of warehouse transactions and the dominating share of retail orders in the total amount of shipments.

Expert Logistic manages actions of personnel of a warehouse in the online mode. After calculation of tasks for a pool of requests of clients, a system defines the contractor and transfers an electronic task for its data collection terminal. During setup of logic of WMS-cistema rules of storage and processing for different commodity groups, from goods of deep freezing to confectionery and groceries were considered. When calculating tasks, the warehouse topology which includes is also considered: expedition section (loading/unloading zone, acceptance zone, zone of a complete set of orders), section of low-temperature storage (-24º; C), section of storage of the cooled products (+4 … +6 º; C), warm warehouse. The last three sections have the identical structure consisting of the storage area of the Inventories which are picked up for the order, the storage area of Inventories (upper tiers of racks) and a zone of selection of orders (readily available, lower tiers of racks). For automation of warehouse processes radio-frequency Windows - data collection terminals of Casio of IT 800 and thermotransfer printers of labels of a barcode of Godex EZ 2200+ is used.

Main project deliverables: ensuring effective work with batches of Inventories (control of expiration dates, control of conditions of contracts), independence of expert knowledge of personnel of a warehouse, increase in accuracy and speed of accomplishment of warehouse transactions. Besides, the warehouse renders services in safe custody of loads, for calculation of cost of the rendered services the standard module of billing the WMS system is used.

Today Expert Logistic works in the mode of commercial operation. The Soprozhdeny systems it is executed by forces of the system administrator from client side. After commissioning of an object of the second queue of a warehouse complex (~ 1000 sq.m), scaling and the WMS setup for new section were executed by forces of IT department of the client
