On June 18, 2012 the SPIRIT DSP company announced that the Russian operator "Rostelecom" deployed under own brand for legal entities the service of multipoint web video conferences based on the Video conference SPIRIT software product. The service works according to the concept of "Over-the-Top", i.e. any company which even is not the subscriber of traditional communication services of Rostelecom can use it.

SaaS - sessions of a video conferencing (VIDEOCONFERENCING) are organized on the service portal of Rostelecom http://conference.center.rt.ru. The personal computer, the webcam and the headset and also connection to the Internet with a speed from 512 Kbps is necessary for participation in a video session. Access for participants to a web conference comes from the browser, via the web interface, without the separate loaded application.

"Implementation of new service is dictated by the growing demand for cloud services of a video conferencing, – note in JSC Rostelecom. – One of advantages of this service is that it, providing HD quality of video, allows clients to save on acquisition and service of the expensive VIDEOCONFERENCING equipment as the organization and technical support of a corporate system of VKS will be performed on resources of the service platform in DPC of Rostelecom.

Earlier based on the Video conference SPIRIT software product the largest Kazakhstan operator "Kazakhtelecom" unrolled VIDEOCONFERENCING service under own brand for the state and corporate clients of Kazakhstan. Several public services and private companies of Kazakhstan already became clients of this SaaS service.

Service is intended for representatives of authorities and also the state and commercial geographically distributed organizations. Cloud VKS allows to increase efficiency of holding meetings and negotiations, to optimize interaction of divisions, to improve quality of training of employees, to reduce time and finance costs by trips, without making investments in creation or updating of own ICT infrastructure.

The Video conference VIDEOCONFERENCING service is already available on the beta of the website of the National cloud platform of O7 created by Rostelecom within the Information Society state program. The national cloud platform designed to unify solution ICT for a public sector, to reduce budgeted expenses of optimization of activity of authorities, to provide free access to applications to representatives of business and also to raise a share of domestic developments in the Russian cloud services provides services in the test mode.

According to analysts, implementation of service of web conferences by Rostelecom on the basis of SaaS completely corresponds to current trends in the industry and is the timely solution.
