Sberbank of the Russian Federation (Microsoft Enterprise Agreement)

On June 22, 2012 the President, the Chairman of the board of Sberbank of Russia German Gref and the head of Microsoft corporation Steve Ballmer agreed about prolongation of the five-year corporate agreement. During the meeting in Redmond heads of two largest companies defined the priority directions of cooperation and also approved the program of licensing and its condition within Microsoft Enterprise Agreement. Operation of the agreement extends to all structure of Sberbank, including affiliated enterprises in Russia, the CIS, the countries of Central and Eastern Europe, India, China, etc.

"The development strategy of Sberbank includes technology updating of bank and "industrialization" of systems and processes and also significant increase in operational efficiency, – Victor Orlovsky, the senior vice president of Sberbank of Russia noted. – An important role in it is played by modern IT technologies. Prolongation of the agreement with Microsoft will give us the chance to use the latest products and solutions of the company on all devices in all bank departments in Russia and the world. The program of licensing and its conditions which are agreed on by Sberbank and Microsoft will allow to do it most effectively".

The five-year agreement provides requirements of bank with the necessary number of licenses taking into account a release of new versions of products and solutions of Microsoft, since jobs of users and ATMs and finishing with the server systems. Moreover, in the contract plans of bank for creation of mega-DPC in the territory of the innovation center Skolkovo at which deployment cloud computing of Microsoft will be used are considered.

The program of corporate licensing Microsoft Enterprise Agreement is intended for the organizations which are ready to select the Microsoft platform as the corporate standard. Important advantage of such option of licensing is Software Assurance subscription allowing to use new versions of products, different updates for security of an information system, a set of additional services for development of IT infrastructure and its support in current status.
