The Harris of the CIS company completed the project of automation of key processes of financial management: planning, budgeting, plan fact analysis and creation of the reporting. As a basis of an implementation project the decision IBM Cognos Express is made.

Task

For the purpose of obtaining the detailed analysis and operating control of key indicators of production, building of high-quality planning and forecasting of budgets, the financial and management reporting Harris SNG LLC addressed to the international consulting company Columbus.

Specialists of Columbus offered the product IBM Cognos Express as means of permission of a set of problems of the specified direction. This complete solution locates necessary tools for the multidimensional business analysis, planning, modeling of different scenarios, accounting and forecasting.

Implementation

The solution was integrated with the ERP system created earlier in Harris SNG LLC based on the Microsoft Dynamics AX platform.

Result

According to the results of an implementation project of IBM Cognos Express the staff of finance division Harris SNG LLC can more quickly and qualitatively exercise budget control, including planning processes and forecasting and to refuse almost completely labor-consuming manual data processing.

In addition, the staff of Harris SNG LLC had an opportunity to create budgets and to predict possible indicators taking into account different scenarios of market development in general and activity of the enterprise in particular. Users of a system can model and test alternative options, create reports. For example, if it is about change of compoundings of this or that commodity nomenclature, cost value on production costs of the next batch of such products will increase. Planning is also conducted proceeding from sales volumes in a current period, costs for raw materials purchase, logistics, marketing campaigns. Specialists compare planned and actual targets and build the corresponding forecasts, minimizing production risks.

The basis for the multidimensional analysis and solving of tasks of strategic planning are the data unloaded from the ERP system.
