Evgeny Vasilyevich Shevchuk - since 2011 the President of the Dnestr Moldavian republic.

Biography

Was born on June 19, 1968 in the city of Rybnitsa of the Moldavian SSR (nowadays Dnestr Moldavian Republic) in the Ukrainian family of employees.

The member of the All-Union Leninist Young Communist League in 1982 — 1991. In 1985 left Rybnitsky secondary school No. 2.

Ended the following higher educational institutions[1] later[2]:

  • Ukrainian Agricultural Academy (faculty of mechanization); (internally) with honors (without the uniform four)
  • Dnestr state university (law department);
  • MIA Academy of Management (organization of law-enforcement activity); (internally)
  • All-Russian academy of foreign trade (international and commercial faculty); (part-time courses) (a training in Great Britain - (London)
  • Diplomatic Academy MFA of Ukraine (internally).

1992-1998: Ministry of Internal Affairs of Transnistria

In 1992 — 1998 worked in bodies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Transnistria for fight against economic crimes. In Tiraspol (department of 4 operational departments) 1998-left at own will, in a rank of the militia captain from a position of the head of department of tax police of the ATC.

1998-2009: "Sheriff", Supreme Council of PMR, Updating

In 1998 it is employed in Sherif LLC to a position of the associate director.

In 2000 it is employed in the PRAK "Agroprombank" commercial bank to a position of the managing director of branch.

Since 2000 — the deputy of the Supreme Council, the vice-chairman of the Supreme Council of PMR, the Chairman of the Committee on economic policy, the budget and finance, the commission chairman on international relations, since 2003 the cochairman of the state Dnestr delegation on negotiations with Moldova within the joint constitutional commission.

In 2005 the batch Updating, with the leader Evgeny Shevchuk receives the majority in the Supreme Council, Evgeny Shevchuk was elected the Chairman of the Supreme Council.

On July 8, 2009 — voluntarily resigned of the Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Dnestr Moldavian Republic[3] within PMR of the conflict initiated by the President.

On July 10, 2010 — it is displaced from a post of the chairman of the Dnestr batch Updating[4].

2011: It is elected the president of PMR

On December 11, 2011 in PMR won first place in the first round of presidential elections, having collected 38.55% of the votes of number which voted and succeeded to the second round; according to Shevchuk, the middle class and youth[5] became his main electorate[6]

On December 25, 2011 in the second round of elections it is elected the President of the Dnestr Moldavian Republic, having collected 73.88% of votes[7]

On December 30, 2011 — entered a position of the president of the Dnestr Moldavian Republic.

Persona non grata

According to provision of the European Commission 2005/147/CFSP, entry into EU countries is prohibited the citizen of the Russian Federation Evgeny Shevchuk and also other leaders of PMR.

Family

He is not married and has no children.[8]

Awards

Awards of the Dnestr Moldavian Republic:

  • Award "Labour Glory";
  • Medal "For Labour Valour";
  • Diploma of the President of the Dnestr Moldavian Republic;
  • Personalized weapon — the Order of the President of PMR for merits in protection, formation and development of the Dnestr Moldavian Republic (2008).

Confessional awards:

  • The Order of Holy Prince Daniel of Moscow 2 class, (ROC) — for development of the church and state relations in Transnistria (2009).
