Sitronics IT builds network of digital television for MTS

"Information Technologies" and JSC Mobile TeleSystems announced SITRONICS in July, 2012 end of key stages of construction of the largest network of digital television in Russia. SITRONICS IT carried out works on upgrade of network of cable television of MTS in the territory of the Central, Volga, Northwest, Southern and Ural federal districts.

Project implementation allowed to integrate separate analog cable networks of the operator in a single digital network what the existing trunk communication channels of MTS were used for. On networks the new digital equipment of head-ends is installed that allowed to give to subscribers an opportunity of viewing 118 digital TV channels, including channels with the high definition of the image (HD).

According to the results of developmental and project and surveying works as a team of specialists SITRONICS IT – the complete solution was designed and developed for head-ends of MTS based on telecommunication equipment of Cisco, Ericsson, Teleste and RGB Networks.

According to the results of a successful completion of the test stage within "pilot" zones lasting about 3 months the decision on start of the TsTV complex in commercial operation was made. For this purpose the SITRONICS IT company developed the complex circuit of delivery of the required equipment to MTS branches. Parallel conducting works on delivery, a commissioning and commissioning of the equipment for TsTV allowed to optimize project implementation terms, and by the end of 2011 the main part of the equipment was delivered to the customer's objects. On July 1 the project on upgrade of MTS TV-networks was actually complete, the operator started digital broadcasting in 150 cities of Russia. Full translation of all TV-subscribers of MTS in a digital format is planned till 2014, at the first stage of project implementation commercial connections of digital television will be available to 49 million residents of 50 Russian cities among which there are St. Petersburg, Sochi, Rostov-on-Don, Yekaterinburg, Perm, Tyumen, Irkutsk, Komsomolsk-on-Amur, Chita, Kirov, Nizhny Novgorod, Ulyanovsk, Vologda, Severodvinsk, Vladimir, Kaluga, Kursk, Smolensk, Volgograd, Taganrog and many others [1].

This model will allow us to synchronize channels of consumption of media content and also to offer users the attractive package offers integrating not only TV-services, but also mobile services and broadband access in the Internet", – the director of MTS of the fixed business and TV Dmitry Bagdasaryan noted.
