The Dell company in the middle of July, 2012 presented the new solution for medium business of Quickstart Data Warehouse Appliance 1000 constructed based on its latest PowerEdge 12G servers and the special version of the Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Data Warehouse Appliance Edition database and representing completely configured hardware and software system for fast deployment of data warehouses. From external sources of Dell provides the Boomi service for integration into this data warehouse.
Dell Quickstart Data Warehouse Appliance 1000 is scaled up to 5 Tb of user data. Mirroring of databases, event logs and system disks and also hot sparing of hard drives is applied to ensuring necessary data availability in a complex. As a hardware platform the rack PowerEdge 720R server with one quad-core Intel Xeon processor E5-2643, 96 GB of RAM and 22 2.5-inch hard drives of SAS on 300 GB everyone is used (four more 2.5-inch disks on 600 GB are used for OS and a hot reserve).
In the USA Dell Quickstart Data Warehouse Appliance 1000 together with a subscription to services of Boomi for one year costs about 70 thousand dollars.
