Central city library of name F. Engels of the city of Rybinsk (ATIZ BookDrive Pro)

According to the city target program "Preserving and Cultural Development of the City District the City of Rybinsk for 2011 — 2014" for libraries of Rybinsk the high-performance scanner of books ATIZ BookDrive Pro which allows to transfer to an electronic form of the book a format to A2 is purchased.

The book keeps within V-shaped book "cradle" with V-shaped clamping glass. Their combination allows to open the book by 120 degrees, without doing it harm and also to scan with a high speed and to receive images of high resolution and quality from digital cameras.

The book scanner is installed in the Central city library of name F. Engels (Krestovaya St., 84). With its help will be transferred to an electronic form and rare editions from funds of library will become available to readers. A priority – digitization of newspaper files "Rybinskiye Izvestiya", since fortieth years of the 20th century.

In the long term – acquisition of the automation system of IRBIS libraries, creation of the uniform electronic directory and fund of books in a digital form, connection of all 18 branches to a single electronic network of libraries of the city and installation in reading rooms of computers for readers.
