Biography
Steve Bennett is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin, has the bachelor's degree in the field of finance and real estate administration.
Within 23 years it worked in General Electric.
Later Bennet headed Intuit, executing a role of the president and director during the period from 2000 to 2007. Is also a member of Boards of Directors of American Airlines and AMR Corporation parent company and also Qualcomm.
Steve Bennet joined Board of Directors of Symantec in February, 2010, in in 2011 became its chairman. In July, 2012 also became the president and the CEO of the company.
In January, 2013 the new general manager of Symantec Steve Bennett began "clearing" of the company within the strategy of Symantec 4.0 with the purpose to rebuild the organization of sales and to reduce excessive personnel. Large purchases were stopped and the sight on integration is taken. This reorganization broke a sales pipeline, and the market was entered by the startups innovators having inflow of the venture funding. Interest in advanced technologies of detection of threats on client devices and in network increased; also the analysis of threats grows demand for gateways of cloud security, cybersecurity analytics using "Big Data".
In March, 2013 the Board of Directors of Symantec dismissed Bennett who "did not move quickly enough". Michael Brown who began to study a possibility of separation of the company was appointed the interim general manager.
