Was born on October 6, 1957 in Leningrad, Russia.

Education

Graduated from school with profound studying of French.

1981 - graduated from economics department of the Leningrad State University (LSU) of Zhdanov (specialty "Political economy").

1987 - ^[2] completed postgraduate studies at LGU^[2].

Scientific degree

Candidate of Economic Sciences.

Defended the dissertation on the subject "Public Debt in the System of the State Monopoly Capitalism".

Career

After leaving school till 1976 worked at the Russian Diesel plant as the translator.

• taught 1981-1989 at the Leningrad agricultural institute.

For 1989-1990 -^[3] worked as the senior teacher of the Leningrad state institute of theater, music and cinematography of N.K. Cherkasov^[3].

1990-1991 - the head of department of Committee on an economic reform of Executive committee of Leningrad Soviet.
