Zhytomyr creamery (Rud)

History

The Zhytomyr creamery is created in 1981. Till 1976th year in its territory there was the Zhytomyr meat-processing plant. From 1976 to 1981 there was a complex reconstruction of premises. Since 1981, were step by step entered into work of workshop on production of animal oil, powdered skim milk, ice cream.

In 1996 Zhytomyr Creamery by privatization is transformed to PJSC Zhytomyr Creamery.

Since April 1, 1998 PJSC Zhytomyr Creamery began to make products under the Rud trademark — such decision is made at general meetings of labor collective, doing justice to the head, his knowledge and managerials ability. Having considered more than 60 options of names of a trademark, the collective nevertheless decided to name a brand of the director. Personal ambitions here to anything, just there was a wish that behind the name of the brand consumers saw the specific person who takes the responsibility for actions of the company and promises connected with products.

In the history how the Zhytomyr creamery went out of the region not a small role played a case. In the mid-nineties the Ukrainian market of ice cream was competed by products from Poland. These products filled all domestic market.

But the innovation on entrance duty, almost at once was stopped by deliveries of these products, and for the Ukrainian producers the big, filled with nobody part of the market opened. At that time there were not many big domestic manufacturers of ice cream (2 — 3 years in Ukraine even deficit of this product was observed), besides capacities of most the companies did not allow to expect the status of national producers. But to the Zhytomyr creamery it was at that time already close in the region. The vacuum formed in the market opened for the company new territories of sale — all regions of Ukraine, and further and the European countries, Israel, Japan and the USA.
