JV Katur-Invest carries out complex upgrade of network infrastructure

The Integration integrator Urals together with Cisco upgraded JV Katur-Invest Ltd network.

Project

"At the beginning of the project Katur-Invest was faced by a task to provide the continuity of all production processes that is the requirement of foreign partners and customers of our company. The implemented project completely solved this problem, but besides we constructed the protected network infrastructure which corresponds both to regulations of industry regulators, and modern requirements to information security", – the chief of bureau of information technologies of JV Katur-Invest Ltd Dmitry Pasurin noted.

Solution

Within complex upgrade of a data network of the customer specialists of Urals Integration company analyzed the existing network infrastructure and tasks of Katur-Invest, prepared the offer, organized supply of equipment, performed balancing and commissioning, set up network equipment and transferred users to a new data network. The selected solution provided duplication of the key equipment: switches of a core of the local computer network (LCN) and data processing center (DPC), firewalls, controllers of a wireless network, access control servers. Duplication of key components of network and use of modern network protocols provided fault tolerance of systems.

Hardware

Upgraded by a LAN of Katur-Invest it is constructed based on the equipment Cisco: switches of a core of network and DPC of Catalyst 4500 and access switches Catalyst 3750X. At the heart of a subsystem of protection of servers of DPC – the equipment Cisco and IBM: Cisco firewalls of ASA5500 series and intrusion prevention system of IBM of GX5000 series. For improvement of mechanisms of protection of the wireless network organized by the principle of centralized operation controllers of a wireless network Cisco of series 4400 and wireless access point of Cisco Aironet AP1240 are used. The subsystem of Internet access and the demilitarized zone of the central office are constructed based on Cisco ASA 5500 firewalls.

Result

Thanks to project implementation, the high level of fault tolerance and security of information systems is provided, uninterrupted communication between technology equipment and servers of the industrial control system (ICS) is organized, capacity of data transmission channels in corporate network is expanded, simplicity of scaling of network and implementation of new applications and services is provided. Besides, network availability of internal servers to employees of a warehouse and an opportunity for work with specialized wireless scanners allowed to adjust process of shipment of products at the enterprise.
