SUE Mosgortrans equips city trolleybuses with modules of satellite control

Within the project of equipment of city transport GLONASS equipment, M2M Telematics until the end of 2012 equips in addition 263 trolleybuses SUE Mosgortrans.

Objectives

The GLONASS satellite navigation technologies is designed to ensure additional safety of passengers and to increase quality of transport service of the population. Thanks to the installed GLONASS equipment the staff of dispatching service will be able to control movement of trolleybuses in real time, most effectively distributing vehicles on route taking into account a passenger traffic and time of day, creating more comfortable conditions of movement for passengers, with another – quickly to react to emergence of road accident and traffic jams.

Solution

The hardware and software system of M2M Telematics group mounted on trolleybuses in addition to the navigation and coherent equipment includes a special VHF communicator for an emergency communication with the manager (by means of transfer of disturbing messages) as an alternative communication channel in overload conditions of work of cellular networks. The increased safety on transport is ensured due to installation in inside of the trolleybus of video cameras, 8 channel video recorders and also tachographs which according to the legislation should be installed on public passenger transport without fail. Such safe public transport is a part of the intelligent transport system (ITS) of Moscow.
