NPF Meridian completes implementation of the integrated software package

The scientific and production firm "Meridian" completes creation of the integrated software package for end-to-end design. At the heart of IPK – the PCAD software products AutoCAD Inventor, Oracle and also several applications of own development. As a result the enterprise managed to reduce significantly terms of product development and to increase efficiency of design-technology department. As software supplier and the consultant of the project in the field of products of Autodesk the PSS St. Petersburg engineering and consulting company acted.

Approach

In 2008 the management of NPF Meridian makes the decision to apply in production processes of the company of technology of digital prototyping based on Autodesk Inventor then procurement of software was conducted and training of specialists of the company is provided. Autodesk Inventor is family machine-building 3D-SAPR, allowing to work with the high performance and to exchange project information with all concerned parties.

Then, in 2008, the company management had first ideas on creation at the enterprise of the integrated software package for end-to-end design. Autodesk Inventor became one of basic products for IPK. Increase in efficiency of design-technology development, decrease in terms of production of a product and release of design documentation and minimization of probability of emergence of an error at product development became the main objectives during creation of IPK.

The PSS engineering and consulting company which experts throughout all process of integration (from the first implementation before creation of IPK) performed consultation and training of staff of NPF Meridian acted as the partner in project implementation.

Solution

During creation of IPK possibilities of Autodesk Inventor extended, respectively there were opportunities to solve new problems with the help of this software product.

Except Autodesk Inventor a basis for IPK NPF Meridian became an automated design engineering system of AutoCAD and Oracle electronics PCAD, CAD. Also IPK include several own developments of NPF Meridian - the application program package of SKOLKA intended for formation of the managing program for the CNC machine for a photo mask of the printed circuit board, a CAD of LENDER V3, ASTPP Cards, IPS of Techmer and a CAD of Trassa.

Result

IPK covered all chain of processes – from creation of the scheme before production and installation: technologies of a digital prototype were included firmly into development processes and productions of products. The model is used for development of design documentation and the layout of bundles. Thanks to end-to-end design using IPK NPF Meridian it was succeeded to achieve significant reduction of dates of receipt of the cable schedule and terms of design-technology preparation of production. The project will develop further. Now process of joining of all systems and data exchange comes to the end.
