Choosing a Solution

From an analysis result of the market of ERP systems and studying of their opportunities as a basis of the new information management system by the enterprise by specialists of the plant selected the Galaktika ERP system. "Galaktika" had to fit into the ideology of "lean production" (lean production) which is actively put into practice by the management of the enterprise. As the contractor on implementation of an information system the Scientific and technical overseas enterprise "Top Soft" acted (The central office of Galaktika Corporation in Republic of Belarus).

Solution

• Creation of a new management system was carried out in three directions:
• management of finance and logistics;
• personnel management and payroll;
• planning and production management.

The project on creation of the automated control system for the enterprise started in October, 2007. Works on all three directions were conducted in parallel and were almost complete by December, 2009.

Regarding planning and production management the new information system provided:

• formation of the production schedule of products with breakdown by quarters and months taking into account insurance backlogs;
• calculation of materials requirement, parts and assembly units on the production program taking into account warehouse stocks and work in progress;
• calculation of nomenclature plans of workshops and sections;
• calculation of plans of ensuring assembly production with parts and assembly units workshops suppliers taking into account warehouse stocks;
• calculation of need for labor resources on the production program;
• formation of estimated calculation of products and semi-finished products.

For conducting production accounting the solution provides:

• formation of limit and intaking cards;
• accounting of material issue and components in production;
• accounting of the intershop movement of parts and assembly units;
• accounting of material substitutions and DSE;
• write-off of materials and components in production;
• accounting of defects, technology and other losses in production;
• inventory of a material remaining balance in production;
• accounting of economic transactions in production.

Start of the Galaktika ERP system in commercial operation for Belkommunmash Unitary Enterprise provided:

• possibility of maintaining uniform base of the normative reference information;
• production planning;
• production accounting by production divisions;
• possibility of continuous and total reflection on accounts of accounting of all economic transactions on the basis of primary documents;
• accounting and allocation of costs;
• formation of balance of the enterprise and annexes to it;
• timely obtaining reliable and consistent information about financial and economic activity of the enterprise.
