ETegro Technologies, the Russian manufacturing company of ADP equipment, presented in October, 2012 the new complete solution ETegro Therascale for equipment by computing powers of the advanced DPCs focused on cloud services. ETegro offers the new principle of equipment of modern data centers - it is a complete complete set the equipment at the level of a server rack and complex approach to monitoring and service of computing powers of DPC. The server rack of ETegro Therascale includes all necessary systems for reliable smooth operation of infrastructure and operational deployment of a cloud.

"We present the advanced solution for creation of DPCs of new generation which are focused on providing cloud services. The solution ETegro Therascale allows to develop most effectively computing infrastructure for a cloud platform. In such DPC "unit of measure" is the server rack. ETegro Therascale provides significant savings of operating expenses due to increase in PUE, the maximum density of placement of computing resources, conveniences of service and control of the equipment. Even based on two racks of ETegro Therascale it is possible to unroll powerful cloud applicaions for mass service of users. The solution ETegro Therascale can interest the operators focused on development of cloud services, commercial data centers, the large organizations or state structures for large-scale projects at the level of information society and the electronic government", - the technical director of ETegro Technologies Alexander Ustyuzhanin tells.

Main advantages of architecture of ETegro Therascale are a considerable decrease in energy consumption of DPC and increase in indicators of energy efficiency (PUE), implementation of effective, energy saving cooling of the equipment, achievement of the maximum density of placement of computing nodes, flexible configuring, simplicity of deployment and monitoring of infrastructure.

The solution ETegro Therascale is placed in racks from 42U to 50U in size. Basic standard option – a system on 44U includes 40 – odnoyunitovy nodes (1U), 3 communication modules and 1 module of management of resistant RMC (Rack Management Controller). In a rack of ETegro Therascale centralized systems of a power supply, cooling and management are applied.

The minimum energy consumption is reached due to failure from individual power supplies in each server and transition to the energy efficient failsafe system of power distribution at the level of a server rack. For a supply system on a back panel of a rack the chassis with six power supplies with hot swap is used 3U, the common bus of a power supply is divorced inside that considerably reduces quantity of wires, loss of energy and heat loads. For ensuring the increased reliability a power supply is brought to nodes of a system on two cables. In addition for protection against abnormal failures it is possible to install the built-in 12 KW uninterrupted power source. It will occupy 2 modules of a rack of 1U in size. Conversion of the entering three-phase power supply happens to efficiency over 94%, and in a rack the system of distribution of a direct current with efficiency to 99% is used.

The intelligent system of cooling includes to eight high-performance arrays of fans of 4U in size with hot swap on a back wall of a rack. In chassis 4U 140 mm are used. fans for the centralized automatically regulated cooling of all nodes that allows to save the place in each working node. Thanks to such approach, energy consumption on cooling of a system decreases to 80% in comparison with traditional approach.

Centralized operation by a rack will be organized based on the module of the management equipped with the service processor and the internal control bus for all system modules. External connection to the console is performed through managing port 1GbE in switching nodes. The remote management console works at a basis of Java of applications. Control and control of the equipment KVM over IP, Virtual Media is organized based on the integrated IPMI 2.0.

At choice of the customer different options of the ETegro Therascale configuration – computing, a rack of storage or a universal rack are offered. In a computing configuration about 40 full-size computing modules 1U, 2 switching modules high from the Ethernet-routing switches of the third level c interfaces 40GbE (QSFP), 10GbE (SFP+) and 1Gb are placed (RJ45). Computing modules of different architecture as h86, and based on processors Tilera, GPU are used. In the standard full-size computing module h86 2 processors, up to 16 modules of memory DDR3-800/1066/1333/1600 with support of RDIMM, LRDIMM, LVDIMM, up to 6 SATA disks, switching payments are placed.

In a rack of storage 12 specialized computing modules with enhanced capabilities of data storage (the disks SATA, the RAID controller, SAS an expander), up to 24 specialized disk shelves (JBOD) for expansion of disk space are placed, for example. Each disk shelf of 1U in size includes up to 16 disks SATA of 3.5 in size', SAS an expander 6G. The switching subsystem includes 3 modules: 2 switches of the third level 48 x 10GbE c interfaces of SFP+ and switch 48 x 1GbE (RJ45).

In universal option 20 universal computing modules of an expanded configuration, 20 JBOD and 3 switching modules similar to a storage configuration are used. All cables between modules are brought to the front panel of a rack. It considerably facilitates process of commissioning and service, simplifies the procedure of hot swap of modules in a rack. The solution ETegro Therascale is ideal for placement in DPCs with separation into cold and hot zones.
