The Russian project management system helped NTZMK to undergo the international certification of IPMA Delta®

Nizhny Tagil Metalwork Plant LLC (NTZMK) is the first enterprise in Russia which received the certificate of IPMA Delta® and reached the international level project managements by means of the Russian project management system of Advant.

The management of NTZMK made the decision on implementation of the corporate system of project management (CSPM) for quality improvement of project management. For process automation of KSUP at the enterprise approached the choice of a project management information system thoroughly. The project manager on implementation of KSUP together with heads of the divisions implementing projects on NTZMK developed detailed technical specifications on the automated control system. As a result of selection of different solutions the Russian Advanta system as the most full conforming to the specified requirements was selected.

Read Also: Advant project management system During an implementation project within several months adaptation of a project management methodology was carried out. Specialists of Advanta Group company together with the working group of the plant started in a system several pilot projects and templates for initiation of new projects are prepared. Leading specialists of the enterprise completed project management courses, including, and using Advant project management system.

Having successfully completed a stage of implementation and having independently started a number of large projects, the Board of Directors made the decision on readiness of the enterprise for carrying out audit of KSUP on compliance of a maturity on the IPMA Delta® model. Audit was booked by specially invited experts:

• Sergey BUSHUYEV is a founder and the president of the Ukrainian association of project management, the board member of International association of project management (IPMA)
• Gerrit KOCH is a project manager and the IPMA Delta® developer (Netherlands)
• Alexey POLKOVNIKOV - President of the Russian association of project management of SOVNET, representative of Russia in International association of project management of IPMA (Moscow)
• Oksana KLIMENKO is the director of the SOVNET-SERT certified center of the Russian association of project management of SOVNET (Moscow).

During certification audit the complex analysis and competency evaluation of the organization in the field of project management was carried out. For this purpose asessor studied the available documentation in detail, interviews with key participants of project activity were conducted: top managers of the company and project managers.

The main pluses of the project management system operating at the enterprise, according to the international asessor, are its adjustability and focus on result, existence of an information system, competent human resources management and their development. Separately by auditors a lot of work of project office on creation of the regulating documentation and implementation of KSUP Advanta was mentioned.

According to the results of audit International Association of project management confirmed compliance of project management of NTZMK LLC to international standards. It is recommended to enterprise to appropriate the second class of a maturity on the IPMA Delta® model with official issue of the certificate. Thus, the Russian Advanta system helped NTZMK to pass a test for compliance to international standards of project management and was highly appreciated by the international asessor.
