Ukrainian Ukrtransgaz completes the construction of corporate network of a video conferencing

The company "Ukrtransgaz" completed the construction video conferencings of network (VIDEOCONFERENCING). Partners in the project: companies Cisco and "MK Engineering"

Background

Construction of VKS network was carried out within the year of conversions announced in the company and promoted acceleration of start of a system of SAP.

Solution

A system integrated 17 territorial subdivisions of gas company distributed across Ukraine. Integration of VKS with selector communication and the system of fast communications allowed to create a versatile production tool. Works on project implementation are performed by forces of IT specialists of Ukrtransgaz.

"We installed personal visual communication systems in offices of all key staff of the company, and now video communication became an integral part of their working day. For the last several months of operation more than 7 thousand video calls were performed, and in the last month we daily state more than 200 video negotiations, − Vitaly Volosetsky, the director of Ukrgaztekhsvyaz, IT department of Ukrtransgaz noted. – In particular, we provide training in work with the software of SAP by video conference that allowed us to instruct all employees for one trainer's rate, significantly having reduced time of training and having increased the speed of system implementation of resource management of the enterprise".

For usage time of video conference in Ukrtransgaz there were noticeable improvements: the efficiency and speed of communication of staff of branches among themselves and with the central office of the company increased, traveling expenses and time spent for planning and holding meetings were cut down. "Efficiency evaluation of this project will be carried out in a year, but already now it is obvious that costs for company management considerably will decrease", – Vitaly Volosetsky emphasized.

Solution

At construction of network of video conference of Ukrtransgaz in the company the personal Cisco TelePresence EX90 systems with the touch control panel, a possibility of use of the screen as PC monitor and the document camera are installed. The unrolled systems for meeting rooms of Cisco Edge 95 MXP easily will transform enterprise placements to multifunction studios of a high-quality video conferencing. Also in the company Cisco TelePresence C60 codecs (platforms of new generation for interaction by video conference) and the specialized Cisco TelePresence MCU 4510, Cisco TelePresence Server and Cisco TelePresence Content Server video servers are installed. This equipment gives additional opportunities: connect participants from mobile devices, prepare documents in the course of the video meetings and also make entries of video conferences for their subsequent mailing and archiving.

Result

More than 120 heads of Ukrtransgaz use personal terminals of video conference of HD quality in joint work over the large-scale projects requiring permanent communication between participants.

Thanks to implementation of new IT technologies, in particular, of video conference, management of Ukrtransgaz is going to reduce considerably time expenditure of all staff of the company. On predesigns, economy of working time of heads will make 30-40%, an engineering personnel – 15-25%, working – 10-20%. By experience of installation of the similar systems at other Ukrainian enterprises of the heavy industry it is expected that the company will increase the average output of work by 15%.
