Short description

The status report on the market of BI systems in Russia covers the period for 2011 and the first three quarters 2012. For the specified more than 20 months the Russian market of a business intelligence made considerable breakthrough forward, as found reflection in a research. Only the number of the projects considered by analysts during preparation of a research was tripled: with 335 to more than 1000.

In nearly two years which passed from a release of the previous report of TAdviser practically all vendors released new versions of the BI platforms so in the report of 2012 of the description and data on the cost of systems for the business analysis are completely updated. Besides, significant changes were undergone also by a theoretical part of the report: the number of articles about current trends in the world and Russian market of analytical solutions grew twice, and they cover all most relevant trends – big data, business discovery, in-memory computing, SaaS, mobile BI. In articles not only in detail the nature of these technologies is considered, but also aspects of their practical use for business are affected.

The main feature of the report consists that for the first time analysts of TAdviser manufactured comparison of all attendees at the market of BI platforms on the basis of the blocks of functions supported by them in Russia and presented the received results in the infographics form. This graphics allows to make easily and well comparison of the interesting systems and to draw conclusions on their functional advantages relatively each other.

For the analysis of opportunities of the BI platforms presented at the Russian market were used as open sources of information to which news materials, advertizing and technical supplier materials, periodic publications in the press and discussions at thematic forums, and the internal informations of suppliers of BI systems (collected as a result of questioning) and own materials of the researcher closed, in particular, belong.

Report structure

The report consists of three thematic blocks. Within the first block author's articles of TAdviser about a status of the world and Russian market of BI systems, relevant trends and also expert interviews with representatives of system integrators, vendors and the companies which impart experience uses of the systems of a business intelligence are submitted.

The second block of the report contains descriptions of 16 BI platforms, their functionality, technical requirements is in detail stated, data on the cost of licenses and services in integration, relevant lists of partner networks and information on the number of implementations are provided in Russia.

The third block contains practical recommendations about the choice of the systems presented at the Russian market. Comparison of the platforms which are present at the Russian market on functionality is given in a graphic type here.

The report represents "educational program" on scope of use of BI systems in Russia for a wide range of specialists, both IT, and not IT of a profile who make the decision on system implementation of business data analysis for increase in business performance.
