JSC Mobile TeleSystems in October, 2012 announced a project startup on equipment of public transport of Veliky Novgorod the monitoring system allowing Novgorodians to monitor the movement of buses online.
Buses of Veliky Novgorod equipped with navigation equipment with SIM cards of MTS thanks to which information on location, a route, accuracy of observance of the schedule and fuel consumption is transferred to the center of monitoring, and residents can monitor traffic on the Internet. Now the equipment is installed for 80% of the buses plying along four main city routes (No. 6, No. 16, No. 19, No. 20) passing through the downtown, the Trade party and the Western area. Since new year the navigation system using which monitoring of MTS is performed will equip all city buses including working at other routes.
Movement of public transport in Veliky Novgorod in real time can be observed on the website http://www.vektornavi.ru/bus53/index.php which works in the test mode now. Red tags show the movement of the buses which are at present on the line on the map. It is convenient to trace transport using the mobile Internet, expecting the bus at a stop. It is enough to visit from the mobile phone the specified website and to click on a tag with number of the necessary route to see how many minutes remained before arrival of the bus.

The project on equipping of buses the navigation equipment allowing to monitor movement of transport and fuel consumption is implemented by MTS together with the autoenterprise of Veliky Novgorod PAT-2 Municipal Unitary Enterprise and Vektor LLC company.
