Product
Developers: Oracle
Last Release Date: October, 2012

The Oracle corporation submitted in October, 2012 Oracle Network Applications Platform, the optimized hardware and software system designed to support high network workloads for development and deployment of the major communication services and applications.

As note in Oracle, telecom industry is characterized by rapid development of shirokopolosnykhmobilny networks, universal distribution of intelligent devices with network access. For successful competitive struggle by serious players, such as OTT (Over-the-Top) - providers, suppliers of network equipment and communication services need to accelerate implementation of innovations at cost reduction.

As a rule, suppliers of network equipment and telecom operators spend months and a considerable part of budgets for integration and testing of various platform components from a great number of producers and management of them. They should direct considerable additional investments to that performance of the applications developed for these platforms conformed to requirements imposed to solutions of a provider class also.

"We expanded family of the optimized hardware and software systems of Oracle for support of telecommunication services of new generation. The release of Oracle Network Applications Platform confirms the aspiration of Oracle to satisfy requirements of the industry with the TV set integrating all key infrastructure components which gathered before the companies, in single solution which will allow to accelerate an output to the market of the innovation telecommunication services", – Bhaskar Gorti, the senior vice president and the general manager of the Oracle Communications direction noted.

Carrying out standardization based on the configured, integrated and tested Oracle Network Applications Platform platform providing readiness of services at the level of 99.99999% and uniform management, clients of Oracle can: Reduce costs for integration and testing of platforms for 33%, and operating costs of 64%; accelerate an output to the market of new services to 40%; direct highly skilled resources to implementation of innovations, at cost reduction during lifecycle of applications for 50%.

Oracle Network Applications Platform is the ready to accomplishment of applications optimized hardware and software system integrating the Oracle Sun Netra 6000 servers, storage systems of Oracle Sun ZFS Storage 7320, the software products Oracle Linux, Oracle VM, Oracle Enterprise Manager, Oracle Communications Service Availability (OCSA) and Oracle Clusterware technologies.

The functionality offered by the platform provides readiness of services at the level of seven nine (99.99999%) and a clustering of a provider class that allows to maintain integrity of sessions at malfunctions in applications and systems to exclude interruptions in functioning of services and to provide continuous service of users.

The reliable complex of management tools applications and a system, including management of all lifecycle, management using the command line or the graphical user interface, the automated installation, configuration management, telecommunication representations and interfaces, supports complete, comprehensive systems management for acceleration of an output of a product to the market.

The built-in assembly tooling of the device, including the Integration Development Kit tools and modular architecture for connection of service components of the platform rationalizes installation, configuring, monitoring, diagnostics, deployment of packets of corrections and upgrade of a system.

The main constructive units of the platform can be supplemented and extend for inclusion of important functionality and support of applications through integration of the additional software of Oracle and other suppliers that allows to create the solution for a long-term outlook and to considerably reduce costs for application development of a provider class.
