Antiphishing.ru

CERT-GIB — the round-the-clock center of quick response to incidents of information security — announced in October, 2012 a project startup of Antiphishing.ru which purpose consists in counteraction to such cyberthreats as a phishing and distribution of malware. The key feature of the project consists that all information on violations will directly arrive from Internet users and to be used for further involvement of computer malefactors to responsibility.

Due to the wide circulation of phishing resources on the Internet including in its Russian segment, the Antiphishing.ru project was developed for operational data collection and processing about any website which causes any suspicions in users. The project was implemented by specialists of the center of reaction CERT-GIB with the assistance of such companies as Yandex, Web of Trust and Mail.Ru Group. This initiative found support from the Coordination center of the domains RU/Russian Federation.

Antiphishing.ru represents the web interface for transfer of the user addresses. For check initiation any Internet user who assumes that he faced the harmful website has enough to load only URL or the IP address of a suspicious resource. After that in the automatic mode collecting of the additional information which, in turn, is exposed to careful processing is performed. On the basis of the carried-out analysis the decision on application of adequate measures concerning this or that resource is made. Besides, all collected information on harmful resources and the malefactors using them will be reported to law enforcement agencies for involvement of violators to responsibility.

For those users who have the whole list of the suspicious websites the opportunity of mass registration of records is given — it is only necessary to press the Add Many References button under entry line. Besides, any can be registered and participate in a competition among "anti-phishers", the best of whom will be encouraged with valuable prizes. "Before start of this project the majority of the harmful resources neutralized by us were detected within information exchange with the partner companies — Alexander Kalinin, the official representative of CERT-GIB reports. — But only using users who daily face different cyberthreats on the Internet we will manage to increase considerably volumes of operational information and, therefore, more effectively to react to incidents on the Internet. It is sure that our initiative will get a wide response among Internet community which is especially susceptible to violations of information security".
