Comstar Regions transfers branches of the macroregion Siberia to the new system of billing

"Comstar — Regions" transferred a number of large wireless Internet service providers of Siberian Federal District to the automated billing system (ABS) of Portmonet, the company in electronic media reported on October 31, 2012.

In the course of acquisition of Internet service providers - a way on which in Russia there is a development of large telecom operators all last years at the end of 2010 the HomeNet local area network (Novosibirsk) was purchased. The cost of the transaction was about 800 million rubles.

Were a part of purchase: a data network and a billing system together with base of subscribers.

Creation in the region of uniform infrastructure demanded building of the general business processes.

The head of department of operation of settlement systems with subscribers and CRM of the Siberian branch of COMSTAR — Regions company Sergey Trofimovich noted: "It was obvious that it is inexpedient to support a set of various billing systems as it requires big resources, both financial, and personnel. Therefore, it was necessary to optimize quantity of systems".

After the carried-out analysis of billing systems of the companies purchased in different regions it became clear that the Portmonet system on the consumer qualities exceeds other solutions. Taking into account other parameters, conditions and characteristics the decision on transfer of a number of regions of Siberian Federal District to ASR "Portmonet" is made.

Solution

Migration on a new system, according to Mr. Trofimovich, did not cause difficulties. The largest amount of works fell on reduction in compliance of business processes of regional telecom operators that took about half a year.

The deployment of infrastructure including installation on places of servers and software of InterSystems, data transfer, training of employees became the next stage. In general no more than one and a half-two months were spent for process of migration of each region.
