In the fall of 2012 of CROC completed the first in the practice system implementation of face recognition of moving people. It is implemented at the central Moscow office of the company: on an input to the building the tourniquet with Broadway 3D from Artec ID is set. CROC — the official distributor of solutions of Artec Group — the only company in the Russian market offering the 3D systems - face recognition. Thanks to convenience of installation and wide experience of CROC in the field of integration of solutions for information security on installation of a system and registration of 500 people (a quarter of the staff of the company, the employees wishing to participate in the project) only four days were required.
The solution is already used by several large organizations worldwide, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Qatar, large commercial bank in Spain and the plant of electronics in Japan. The 3D system - recognitions provides the high level of security, unlike the admission, it is much more difficult to forge three-dimensional model of the person. Besides, the solution allows to set value of a threshold of recognition, reducing or raising the security level on the protected object. For example, at high value of this parameter a system will not pass even the twin of the registered employee. Sometimes the device is enough to be installed only where the question of access is especially important, for example, on an input in storage of values.
In the course of registration the camera Broadway 3D removes the three-dimensional image and builds a mathematical model of the person with a submillimeter accuracy. Then a system creates a biometric template (3.5 kb) which registers in the database, being associated with a card and ID of the user. All process of registration takes two seconds. Within one second the device manages to analyze 40 thousand points on the person, to construct exact model of the person and also to make comparison with persons in the database.
The solution can work in two modes — identifications and verifications. In the first case a system compares a 3D model of a human face and its biometric template and, at their coincidence, passes the person. In the second case — reads out the map admission, and then makes comparison of the person of the visitor with the template corresponding to it in the database. Thus, it checks whether really the admission belongs to the person wishing to enter the building. If data do not match, a system notifies on it a security service.
"The system of face recognition — the good solution for the companies where the security issue plays a paramount role. These are banks, archives of museum values, hospitals, the airports, etc. Besides, a system is useful to manufacturing enterprises: at the beginning of change a flow of people very big and to trace whether according to the admissions there pass people, impracticablly. Thanks to the rich functionality, in particular, to the identification mode, the solution will be demanded also in large business centers. It will save customers from need to arrange an access control system under different types of maps which tenants use. Already now interest in the solution showed large media holding and industrial enterprise" — Anna Nemirovskaya, the head of end-to-end systems of security of department of intellectual buildings of CROC commented.
"The solution has several advantages in comparison with other systems of recognition, for example, with the device for reading of fingerprints. At 3D - recognition the percent of false admissions and failures is significantly lower, and the contactless technology exempts from permanent cleaning of sensors and long positioning in front of the device. Besides, this solution much more precisely and more reliably, than the system of identification according to the photo, it works in utter darkness, is not sensitive to turns of the head, can distinguish people in headings, points, in the presence on the person of moustaches and beards. All those noises which set thinking and make a mistake the system based on recognition according to the normal two-dimensional photo just are not determining for recognition by 3D - to the image of the person. 3D - has biometrics no failures in registration that quite often happens in other biometrics. In comparison with similar devices for 3D - recognition of the person the 3D Broadway system analyzes more data during shooting, projecting on the person a special grid under a parallax corner, she obtains information on the distortions of a projection created by geometry of the person and calculates exact provision of each point in three-dimensional space" — the vice president for business development of Artec ID company Stebleva Anna noted.
