NIYaU "MEPhI" upgrades EDMS and increases the number of licenses of a system

The Digital Design company started project implementation of upgrade of an electronic document management system based on DocsVision 4.5 in National Research Nuclear University of MEPhI, the press service of the company reported on December 6, 2012.

Background

Earlier the IT company implemented in MEPhI of EDMS with classical feature set based on Smart Start for DocsVision. A system at that time ensured simultaneous operation of 200 users. Further EDMS MEPhI was transferred to platform 4.3, and later 4.5. After Digital Design connected more than 18 isolated structural divisions of the university located across all Russia to a system. Now the number of simultaneous users of EDMS is up to 550 people.

Objectives

Within the project it is necessary to perform process optimization of document registration, control of execution of instructions, reportings. These modifications will allow to reduce significantly costs of time and work for implementation of key business processes at the university.

Owing to specifics of activity of the university his employees daily work with large volumes of versatile information. Only one teachers of MEPhI total about 1000 people who need to register quickly data and to make reports. The structure of the university represents extensive and difficult education and includes 18 isolated structural divisions in different territories of the Russian Federation, in each of which, naturally, there is a document flow requiring a single system of management. Expansion of functionality of EDMS will allow the university to optimize operations on registration and document handling, to provide transparency of work with information at all stages and in all divisions.
