Dynamic market development of mobile video surveillance of the last years is in many respects connected with development of technologies - new smartphones and tablet computers, new opportunities of transfer of content - from GPRS to 4G, LTE, Wi-Fi. All this allowed to use usual gadgets in everyday life for obtaining the video image in real time.

Until recently main user of mobile applications for video surveillance was the house owner or the owner of the small protected object who wanted to see "the live picture" from secure facilities. Respectively there was rather poor also a feature set which were, as a rule, limited to access to "live video" and sometimes to archive. It is no wonder that such functionality could not suit a security service of large or even medium-sized company, as was the main incitement to improvement of mobile applications.

An owner of one of the most advanced solutions in the market of mobile video surveillance is the DVTel company offering mobile applications in composition of management of Latitude which provide as remote access to command center and its resources, and operational obtaining the image from the mobile device of the operator.

Remote access to command center

The mobile application of DVTel set on the tablet computer or the smartphone allows to provide access to all video information which is available in the video surveillance system working under control of Latitude NVMS®. DVTel expanded a set of functions, standard for similar applications, with the Disturbing Button mode allowing the user to transmit an alarm and information on the location to command center (which decides on the help of the built-in GPS receiver). Coordinates of "a disturbing event" are displayed on Google map integrated into Latitude management system operator interface. Thus, the operator can monitor a situation by means of the cameras located nearby which placement is displayed on the same card and to take necessary measures. Besides, the mode of position fix can be used also for constant control of location of employees. In addition mobile application provides: manual activation of a write mode with storage of video during longer time frame and also "instant repetition" - quick access to archive of the selected video camera with the predeterminated interval between the current ("live") video and starting point of reproduction of record.

Main characteristics of mobile application of DVTel:

Practice showed that use of mobile applications not only allows to improve awareness in a surrounding situation of employees of security services, but - that is especially important - allows to provide acceptance of the right decisions in the conditions of quickly changing situation or emergency.

Mode of the mobile video camera

In addition to function of remote access to command center in February, 2012 the DVTel company provided the innovative technology of TruWitness allowing to use the camera which is built in the smartphone as the additional surveillance camera with transfer of all information in Latitude management system for further processing (display and record). At the ISC West 2012 exhibition Association of the industry of security (Security Industry Association) the DVTel company with TruWitness technology was selected by the best of 70 applicants from The Best Innovation Product nomination.

In the offered technology video transmission is performed on Wi-fi networks, 3G, 4G or LTE. An initiator of transfer is the user of the smartphone that excludes a potentiality of invasion into private life of the user of mobile application. For adaptation to networks with different capacity of TruWitness supports flows of H.264 and MJPEG, with the resolution from 320x240 to HD at 1-30 frames/pages. The modern version supports devices on the Android platform, the next plans include support of iPhone, record of audio, increase in permission up to HD quality.

Use of TruWitness allows to receive the image from those points where there are no stationary cameras. The police officers leaving on a call; the specialists ensuring safety when holding sporting events; the staff of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and fire protection and also many other representatives of operational services can use TruWitness as the tool for control and management of a situation in real time.

Mobile applications and management system of Latitude are a part of iSOC (intelligent Security Operational Center) - a complex of solutions of DVTel for security systems. Latitude are the software platform created for effective management of information, allowing to create the situational centers of different scale - from the small systems in about ten cameras to systems with almost unlimited number of channels.
