MedPACS in Scientific Research Institute Kardiologii SO Russian Academy of Medical Science

In Federal State Budgetary Institution Research Institute of Cardiology of the Siberian department of the Russian Academy of Medical Science the MedPACS system of Medotrade company is installed and configured for acceptance of images.

Picture Archiving and Communication System represents a complex of software and hardware tools (networks, servers, computers, the software) for the organization of storage of digital diagnostic images in the treatment and prevention facility (TPF) by creation of digital archives. The solution allows to develop also computerized jobs and to transfer images on network, both in health facilities, and between different organizations of department.

Within the project in the Tomsk Scientific Research Institute Kardiologii SO Russian Academy of Medical Science 13 workstations of post-processing of radiologists — for work with medical images of different type were configured. A number of new features was added to a system:

1. a possibility of a multithreaded operation mode with images;
2. capture and preserving of video in DICOM format, with a possibility of further viewing it in the medical record of the patient;
3. manual calibration of not calibrated images;
4. record of the selected researches on CD.
