The Northwestern Customs Office starts operation of the departmental closed VPN network

The Kaliningrad branch of Rostelecom organized the closed data network (IP VPN) for the Kaliningrad regional customs, the press service of the company reported on January 14, 2013. The contract with Rostelecom for rendering this service is signed based on electronic biddings.

Solution

The closed network integrated 32 objects of department located in different corners of the Amber land. Among them and customs posts on border with Lithuania and Poland. According to terms of the contract, Rostelecom not only constructed data transmission channels for creation of network, but also undertakes to provide providing the digital channels of data transmission working 24 hours a day, 7 days a week during all timeline for delivery of services and also the round-the-clock technical support. According to specifications, capacity of communication channels makes 2 Mbps and upon the demand of the customer can be increased up to 10 Mbps.
