The Moscow Railway completed creation of multifunction technology command center a suburban complex and implementation of the automated control system for the schedule of HP of Service Manager and video surveillance. On January 22, 2013 journalists were reported about it by the deputy chief engineer of the Moscow Railway Alexander Pozdeev.

Project Objective

Main objective of the project, according to Pozdeev, is creation of processes of management of activity of a suburban complex and development of the automated control system. "It was necessary to create this technology center to have an opportunity at any time to understand where we have trains and electric trains and to solve as fast as possible the arising problems", - he told.

Project Progress

Alexander Pozdeev told TAdviser that now one of the initial stages of the big project of upgrade of IT infrastructure of the Russian Railway is complete.

"The implementation project took on time nearly a year from June, 2011 to June, 2012 and half a year more it was tested", - Alexander Pozdeev told TAdviser. - At the same time, within the project, we made an overhaul of the building in which the center is located".

Vendor and Integrator

As integrator to the project it was attracted with I-Teco. "The choice of vendor was caused by several factors", - the president of I-Teco Shamil Shakirov told TAdviser, answering questions. - We work with HP more than 10 years. The wide experience and examination on implementations of the systems of this producer was during this time accumulated. Desire of the customer to work with products of HP became other factor".

According to Pozdeev, at negotiations with integrator it was designated at once that HP will be vendor of all equipment. "IBM has rather similar systems, but I do not accept this producer by some parameters", - TAdviser it told. - In this segment the best systems at HP".

Project Results

Alexander Pozdeev told that as a result of the project the Moscow Railway accurately differentiated technology and service blocks in work of all of structure.

"Thus we have a separate management system for the schedule and the motor-carriage rolling stock and we can work more specifically with the logistics", - Alexander Pozdeev continued to answer questions of TAdviser. - The uniform technology of management of activity of all farms was developed, completion of the existing schemes of work and business processes is carried out".

Within the project the subsystem of visualization of processes of the Moscow Railway allowing to watch in real time on a vista shot of network a status of infrastructure and process of accomplishment of tasks was developed.

Development plans

Alexander Pozdeev noted that creation of the technology center is the first stage in the general project of upgrade of IT infrastructure of the Russian Railway. "Now it is necessary to look at seasonality of a passenger traffic and what changes can be made. At least a year later it will be possible to speak about results and about the project of replication of similar technologies on other railroads", - he told. - The railroads of those regions where dense building and the dense population is observed can be subject to replication of the developed system".

Project cost

Within the project of I-Teco and HP did not announce the income. However Alexander Pozdeev told that the total cost of the project passed for 400 million rubles. "About 150 million rubles left on an overhaul of the building, and the rest - is slightly more than 250 million - the equipment, implementation and adjustment".

Pozdeev told TAdviser that the main project investment cost and its training were had at the expense of budgets of 2010 and 2011. "How many it will require further upgrade to tell us difficult so far: it is necessary to trace seasonality to understand where completions are necessary and already proceeding from it to continue to work further", - he concluded.
